Alpine Climbing Kick Start Course 

The course duration varies depending on your pace of learning. However, it is designed to provide comprehensive training in a condensed timeframe.

You'll have access to 5.5 hours of video content across 30 videos, along with ten informative articles and a handful of quizzes to test your knowledge and abilities. Most students typically complete the course in about 6-7 hours. However, you'll have lifetime access, allowing you to revisit lessons whenever needed, especially as your climbing journey progresses.

Absolutely! This course is specifically designed for beginners, starting from the basics to build a solid foundation in alpine climbing, regardless of your background. It’s perfect for individuals who want to get into alpine climbing but aren't sure where to start or how to progress.

If you have some experience, it might be worth checking out the course structure and what is under each module to see if there are a lot of areas you would benefit from learning more. For example, if you have climbed Mont Blanc and you want to move into harder climbs, this course could be a great next step. However, if you have already done an introductory alpine climbing course with a guide, you may find this too basic. 

The most important piece of equipment is a computer/tablet to work through and access the course material. You will need to be connected to the internet in order to access the lessons. 

You will need access to a harness and a rope (which I will also provide ideas for how to source these items without having to buy them immediately). 

At the end of 5 out of 6 of the modules, there will be a short quiz that you need to take and pass. You can re-take the quizzes as many times as you need until you master the content. 

After completing the course and successfully completing the quizzes, you will be given the Certificate of Completion. 

Once you have completed the course and the quizzes, you will be provided with a Certificate of Completion. You can show this certificate to a guide so that they know you already have basic knowledge and skills needed for alpine climbing and can jump into more meatier objectives. 

You will also get access to a private group on the Oak app so you can organise activities with other students and future in person training with Dave and other guides. 

No. This platform runs a software that detects multiple IP address logins, so if you are found to be sharing it with multiple people, your access will be revoked.

You will be able to use it on multiple devices though such as phone, tablet and PC without any problems. 

You have lifetime access to the course. No subscription needed. I find that as you start to develop more experience, this is a great resource to be able to revisit.

No. While this course is aimed at getting up to speed with European alpine climbing, the lessons in it can be transferrable to any alpine climbing terrain.
